Abstract
The present paper aims at describing the history, creation, and functions of the SACEM, a French company that collects and allocates royalties resulting from the exploitation of the works of its members. This role has been disrupted with the emergence of digital streaming platforms, conducing the SACEM to rethink and reinvent its methods.
